can I get an opinion on this please? I am about to make a run of cards for
next weeks show, and want to use this image:

The whole top of the dress/ ceiling fan, stuff out of focus really doesn't do it for me. It's a shame that the dress wasn't positioned better with less distractions because the dog is in focus and is priceless.

sorry, that doesn't work for me. Not for wedding promotion anyways.
If you have ONE image to work with, then make it POP, edgy, artistic, and emotional.

And less cluttered. There are so many things going on in that room. Lamps and bedposts and a dresser with tons of stuff on it.... a chair, very busy carpet with a strong line going into some plain carpet, and again... the dress is not showcased in this picture. The focus is on the dog. And, a lot of people don't like animals. Animals should not be used as an advertisement for wedding in my opinion.
And some people like animals but something tragic happened with their animal and they get very emotional and turned off by it.

That one is leaps and bounds better than the first one. If these are your two choices, definitlely go with that 2nd one. I don't like the distraction in the upper right corner though. Would be great if you could clone it out. Other than that.. I really like this one.

On the bottom one, it's a nice image but the details on the dress are blown out and whatever's on the right side of the picture detracts from the composition.

I agree that it's not the best because the dress is blown and also because of that thing on the right that I already mentioned but again.. IF these are your only choices, bottom one for sure.

The one with the dog is a really cute idea, but I have to agree with the others on all their comments. I wouldn't give up on it though, try a horizontal crop, you can still see enough of the dress and shoes to know it's a wedding gown and you can lose all the clutter & distractions. I agree that for a promotion shot it just doesn't speak out enough, but it's a great filler that will fit perfectly somewhere:confused:

hhhmmmm. I can probably bring those highlights in a bit, and clone out the
white part of the railing you see, or perhaps crop tighter. I have a bunch more
from this shoot.

Okay, I might be a cropping maniac, but once again, here I go. I would try a vertical crop on the second one to bring her in closer, which would chop off the blown out lower part of her dress and get rid of the distraction from the background and some of the forground.

I would certainly go with the 2nd... but as everyone else stated the blown dress is an issue, maybe if you can bring some of it back

Which is the background distraction? I just cloned out the white railing in the front.
the dress I can bring in. the filter applied has blown it out WAY more than the original.

IN my opinion, this image from your other thread is a much stronger image and I would choose it over either of those other ones in a heartbeat. I thought I remembered the beautiful bride so I went back and found this one.

The last one is great. As for the one you keep cloning things out of.. the distraction we are talking about is that black torn up looking thing on the right side of the image that might be a wall or a rail or something? I don't know but it's distracting.

And with that said, you did a great job bringing detail back into that blown out dress photo and bringing the color back. And now we can tell there's a road below the house.

I think I am going withthe last one. I bumped contrast and sat +10, and it works.
