I'm new at taking picutres of birds and post processing so any any advice on these to help me get better would be appreciated.

You've definitly done a good job for a new start and you certainly are learning fast which is the hardest images to take ...... "Birds in Flight" ! I know it's exciting but like Gary says , more closer is the secret with perhaps a longer fl lens or a good zoom lens at least in the 400mm range . That first image would be great had it been more close and another background scene..... , hard to pick your back ground on flights :( . Most ppl shoot in RAW but i shoot in lg jpeg format . That way you can zoom in an image and cropp as necessary when needed and also to see detail better in your images . If you have USM/IS lens then this is a big help especially if you are handholding the camera , otherwise use a tripod for stable shots . Think the first image would be great if it has clear focus and you have the original in a lg format that you can zoom in and crop out that trash below . Hope this helps some .

Well I have a 70-300 mm zoom lens. The hardest part was taking these from a moving boat. Although I'm trying to convince my wife that I need more lenses it will take a little more work.

Thanks for the comments.

I like the 2nd best. Nice job tracking the birds and getting very good focus.
