Hello. http://www.ontarionature.org/ubb/smile.gif

This year, I've identified in my backyard the American Robin, Mourning Dove, House Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbird, Grackle, and Northern Cardinal. But there is one particular species of bird in my backyard that I haven't been able to identify yet. Please see the video and two pictures I've uploaded to help me identify this bird:

Looks to me like a female red winged blackbird. Not quite sure though.
Heres a link to google images: http://images.google.ca/images?svnum=10&um=1&hl=en&q=red+winged+blackbird+female

Looks to resemble a Song Sparrow to me. Very hard to tell. One things is that as a ground forager, that fits the sparrow.

Well there you have it. A brown thrashing red winged black sparrow!

Ospreyphoto is correct. It's definitely a female red-winged blackbird. Song sparrows do forage on the ground, but they have a black 'button' on their breast and are smaller.

Thank-you for the input, everyone. After performing a google search, I can now affirm the identity. Ospreyphoto is correct, it's a female Red-winged Blackbird.

I have one more bird which I discovered this morning in my back yard. I'm not sure if it's also a female Red-Winged Blackbird, a young Mourning Dove, or just another bird altogether. It has a small body and was quite fast. The head is rather small for it's body. With my naked eye, I saw a purely gray chest. Anyone know what kind of bird this is? Perhaps it's an immature female Red-winged Blackbird? However, the abundance of gray underneath it's body leads me to doubt.
