Afternoon
Brands Hatch is hosting a round of the British F3s and British GTs this weekend. Here are some shots exclusively of the GTs - from practice, qualifying and a race they had today. (I'll do some more threads later of the support stuff)
Weather was warm and at times the light was perfect. As usual kit is 20D/Sigma 70-200EX/Sigma 120-300EX/Me. PP limited to resizing and a bit of contrast & USM on the Druids shots as there's a sodding great big fence between me and the cars. Enjoy.
The de-riguer thread opener. Fezza out of Druids.

Vipers are like buses: Don't see one for ages and then 3 come along, at Stirlings.

Hope you like them.
I'm going for a shower, a lie down in a cool dark room, a rub down with a used copy of Health & Efficiency, a pint and a steak. Back later.

<topical joke>
How come the Tesco Mosler wasn't shut down in a security alert? ;)

Lovely stuff Dave, specially the Viper et al via the Super TV Flap. That Lambo is gawwwgeous, tis a shame it wasn't ready for Round 1 when i last saw this lot...roll on Croft in September.

Cheers guys, the TV flap isn't so good when the GP circuit is being used, you need to keep an eye open for something different to the usual head on shot as the background is probably too plain.

Wonderful photos, always good to see the big GT's on the proper track!
Did you hear about the Formula Ford crash? I heard a car hit an ambulance and barrel rolled several times!

Cheers - there was a car stalled and apparently it hit that, I doubt it was an ambulance

Number 5 is great. The rest are rubbish.
No, I'm kidding. I'm pretending to be James Hunt.
Those are all great. If I can ever shoot pics half as well as you do, I'll be estatic.

Hi Dave,Great series of pics.Ialso look forward to seeing your pics especially the panning shots.I like the saturation in your pics shot with the 20d as i use the same camera but i can't get my pics like that.Any ideas on the settings if their shot straight from camera.
Cheers.

I was at Brands also all weekend, Shame I didn't see you. Just for a change I was posted at Druids and had the Formula 3 thrown at me in the morning, Great Photo's would love to see some more of the 1,2,3 cars in the GT's the Aston DBRS9's they were sweet. Also looking forward to support race stuff.
To answer the question yes it was an abulance that got hit.
Car rolled big stylee and threw it's wheels off in a tantrum and one of them hit the rescue unit dealing with one of the other cars, made a right mess of it too, the whole length of the let hand side of the Ambi at sill level was bent buckle and treated to a coat of tyre smear.

Good stuff Dave. Stirlings is always a please to shoot when the light is right... looks like it was bang on with the Vipers :)
I saw the end of the FFord rollover from the bottom of Paddock... looked very nasty. Spoke to a few of the marshalls today, yes the ambulance was hit. Certainly wouldn't want to have been one of those guys waving a yellow flag on the track when cars were flying in at all angles!
And today an F3 car manged to rollover at Druids! I was down at Paddock and didn't even realise what happened till I saw a couple of toggers showing each other shots... so I had a quick nose and woah. Seen a couple of great shots of that!
Like you Dave I'm pretty toasted as well... funny as the Superbikes at Oulton was soaking haha

Me and Ollie Read I reckon. Ollie has the start and I have the airborne bit as it was aiming for him. Chicken.
Anyone get the Ginetta triple roll at Westfield Sunday morning?

I think that the parameters are set on +1 for sharpness, contrast and saturation. They've had a bit of a CS2 plug in called Velvia Vision and a low level pass of unsharp mask - lenses can also affect image quality don't forget!

Bloody hell! I wondered why there was a massive gouge in the nearside sill of the ambulance. Could have been pretty nasty. I saw you up at Druids for the F3 roll, next time I'm up I'll try to say hello! Will hopefully get through some more pics tonight...

Yes definitely!

Cool man.
Was cracking up at the marshalls at Westfields. Best quote of the day was when one of the Caterhams backed into the gravel at impossibly low speed:
"WAAAANNNKAAAAAAAH"

Cant decide which one i like, they are all incredibly sharp, and cropped well with good lighting.
Just know the Gallardo looks very nice/different with the red wheels

Thanks - the light was really good on Saturday. Well, that or I fluked where to be at the correct time of day. None are cropped as such, they are all sized as they came out of the camera.
