This couple seemed quite shy and quiet in our client meetings so I thought we may have our work cut out today but once we got into it they were stars today and really made the most out of having us around.
Heres a few converted JPG's I am just posting to the blog, theres more on the blog but they are aimed at the family and guests.
Polite C&C welcome.
1. Tight room so i shot this from above rather than my usual angle

2. Was shooting this blind just holding the camera above my head so I have another 10 with the bride not visible in the mirror

3. Bride have a few tears before leaving home
http://www.boundlessphotos.co.uk/clients/BP002-BLOG-03.jpg
4. I have at least another 5 of these with the littlist girl looking anywhere but at me.
http://www.boundlessphotos.co.uk/clients/BP002-BLOG-04.jpg
5. We were behind them on the way to the venue and they were kissing but we just couldnt get the shot so we asked them for a quick kiss when we got there, really like how it came out.

6. I know everyone does this but its still fun to do and the guys really enjoyed it.
http://www.boundlessphotos.co.uk/clients/BP002-BLOG-09.jpg
7. and of course the girlies can jump too.
http://www.boundlessphotos.co.uk/clients/BP002-BLOG-10.jpg
8. This is becoming one of ur standards, my mate shoots the traditonal cutting of the cake shot with the bride and grooms face in it whilst I just get tight on the cutting

It was a fun gig today but even with 4 of us (my wife plus one of her friends tagged along to help) it was a toughie because it was quite hot and humid (for the uk anyway) plus we were shooting some video footage for them as well. Slideshow went down well and drew tears from the bride which is usually a good sign and mini album was one of our best yet imo.
Hope you guys had good ones today, need to post these to the blog now and get some sleep !!

Number 2 & 5 are fantastic!
1. Can you crop and brighten?
2. Love it.
3. Can't see much. Keep it in probably good small in the album.
4. Nice, but i'd go easy on the vignette.
5. Great capture! The outside doesn't give any information I might crop it.
6/7. Cool and well exposed. Not sure I like the shot of the girls jumping as much - maybe all at once? Again vignette is a bit much IMHO.
8. I really like it, great idea! I'm going to do that next time :)

yeah I like the guys jumping more than the girls, they look like they're not having fun. That one in the rearview mirror is cool. the guys jumping is a very nice shot

Love them all. I'd tone down the vignette a bit, though. Overall, the color and composition are just great! :)

Rearview mirror? I thought that was a small window in the back of a limo or something? That is my favorite picture though.. the one I am speaking of.
Really nice overall.

I really love this whole set! Especially #2! (I would maybe clone out the small teal & brown object on the right side of the door frame)
In regards to 6 & 7, can you please explain how you shot this? Everything is exposed so nicely, including the sky. Did you meter for the sky and use some sort of fill flash? Also, did the sky come out that blue or is that post production? I'm having real issues with blowing out the sky and I would appreciate advice from someone who gets it right on! :-)

I look forward to your postings, i really love your story and your work.
Looking deeper though i notice that number 2, which is fantastic, was shot at 1/30 in ambient light.
Do you take vallium? i struggle to shoot 1/60 handheld !!!!!

You are really improving! #1 is a little blah for me, but the rest are great! Looove #2 & 5. #3 is a good capture, but just a tad too close up. 6 & 7 - great color and the clouds look awesome. Nice job all around!

I love them all except #4, I personally just don't care for the angle. The rest are great shots! Good Job!

Cheers for the nice comments guys
In response to a few comments
Yup I think I am getting carried away with my lomo effect and vignette that comes with it, think I will make an action that gives the colours more pop like lomo but without the vignette
Yup the silohette shots is through the rear window of the RR
Regards 6 and 7 and the lighting because we use burst mode for these its really tough trying to use some fill flash, the flash supposedly fired in the girls jumping pic but I dont think it has much effect, having the sun where we wanted it in relation to the boys jumping and me laying on the ground for the pic helped with the light I reckon.
No I dont take valium :) For prep shots I really dont like using my flash so dont usually have them on my camera until we get to the church but I still try and keep my iso down for fear of noise, so I guess thats the reason for the shot at 1/30 sec but even with my arms outstetched above my head theres no real blur but I think the IS on the 17-55 really helps with that because I dont consider myself to have particular steady hands.
3 is closer than I would have liked as well but it was a quick grab with what I had in my hands which was the 70-200 on that occasion.
Thanks again guys, a lot of the stuff were doing or trying to do now is a result of stuff we have seen here so thanks to everyone else that shares their work because it really helps us.

Cheers Jamie, were just working on a new physical sample of our portfolio (just a book with our fave 20 shots in it printed 10 x 8 from the weddings so far this year) and we will definitely include that one as we really like how it turned out. Cantd ecide whether to ccrop it tighter or not atm, I kinda like how its not too big and has some context within the shot even if most people wouldnt be able to work out what it is. ... think I will get a couple of different crops done and see which we like best.

Bambert,
I love your style.
Have you undertaken formal tuition to get to your present standard, or have you acheived your level of competence by other means?

Cheers Matt, thats all we try and do at every wedding, just try and the whole thing a little bit better each time so if you think that then I am very happy.

Cheers Kato, both myself and my shooting partner did a nightschool photography course last year but that was all technical stuff but still very useful for me as I am quite new to SLR photography, the creative side of our shots is mainly as a result of looking at lots of shots that people post here, the masters of wedding photography DVD's, looking at a lot of other photographers sites, a dozen wedding and general photography books we have bought and read and just experimenting ... one of the advantages of always shooting as a pair is that we can always try differnet things as well as trying to get safe shots and hopefully this is something we can do further as we get the hang of this game.... still feel very much like newbies atm !
