I was fortunate enough to get field access during the home opener of Toronto Argos. I was right down there with the sports shooter just slightly back.
For all you pros out there I really need to know how you shoot in these conditions. Big props to photos you guys produce. The dome was closed. I shot AV @ 300 wide open @ 2.8 ISO 1600. I found it so hard to get sharp shots without PP. Also I shot JPG what a mistake, talk about WB problems. More time spent on PP that I normally have to. What a learning experience. It was also great to chat very quickly with the pro shooters and watch them in action. I post some more pics once I get time to PP them. What a learning experience.

3. The starting QB broke his wrist soon after this pic. One of the last few throws for the next 8 weeks.

I think you did a nice job! I usually shoot our high school football games on the field and it's great fun. I just bought a grey card to help with the white balance issue, but didn't have the time or space to use it from the stands. Shooting night football ain't easy, but the 2.8 lens makes it possible! Keep up the good work!

These are pro quality if you ask me!
I can't believe you were only getting ~ 1/400s shutter speeds at F2.8 in a pro stadium.
Great job.

Nice series, especially like 2, 3 & 6 (excellent capture). Seems to me like the only difference between these and your regular posts is that it was inside (well done on that count) and that the players are all a bit bigger than you're used to shooting. ;) Good job and it sounded like a fun experience.

Nice pics. The double blue is always a nice combo when the colour is nailed like this. I saw some of that game. I'm pretty sure you made the highlight reel on Talbot's touchdown - your last pic. If it wasn't you, some Canon 'tog did.

Drisley I was as shocked as you and at 1600 ISO. I don't know how the pros manage.

Darsk47, it probably wasn't me the pro shooter was in front of me camera left I was on the outside of Ad banners around the field.

I got to do this because our Atom teams were the pre-game and half-time show and I got to shoot those from center field as the 4 teams played from the 35 yard line at the same time.

Many what experience. Don't think I'll get a chance like that again.

Thanks for the nice feed back.

Nice series, my only CC would be that they could use some different cropping, but other then that you did a great job!
