Big congrats...but i see no by line

Is it so wrong for a photographer to want such a thing? Or is that just my 18 year old selfesh atitude?

I was honored when some photographs of mine were printed in color in this years yearbook...but no one knows they are mine.

Bah, whatever right? Awsome job dude.

By the way, you should ask Line-Ex for some money :-)

Thank you all! Yes, it's sinking in...Especially after getting the checks! Timmy: Credits are inside the front cover and then on every photo inside. They don't usually credit the front cover on the front cover.

Well done Jim. I know you knew it was coming, but I bet you got a rush when you actually saw the shot on the physical magazine.

Congrats. :D :D

Cheers

This is as close as I might ever come to knowing somebody famous. You're an inspiration to us all----and you're one of us!

Extremely well done, Jim.

Well, I sure appreciate all the kudos and I hope to see many of your names with the same subject title someday. Yes, this was a rush and it seemed to take so long for it to come after they first called me. We went back and forth on what shots they wanted and then they chose 4 and no cover.

I was kinda bummed, but it was still okay.

Then they called and said I got the cover! It was so cool. To finally see it was so sweet. My family is thrilled and it's nice to have a cover in the portfolio after all this time.

To be able to share it with my photography family here at CDP really is the highlight. I also have learned alot here and hope to share what I've learned with all of you and the future "you's" we will see join this awesome forum-home daily.

Gen: Cannot post originals. Part of the contract is they bought temporary rights to the photos for six months. I cannot display any of them during that time. I was even hesitant posting this on my website, but I'm promo'ing their mag, so I doubt they'd complain.

Tom (Belmondo): Famous? Hardly. I don't stopped in the streets or chased by crazed photographers!!

CDS: The driver on these boats has full control of steering and throttle. The navigator just gives directions like in WRC (Rally) or some forms of auto-x.

I was just wondering how they changed it from the way it was shot. It seems to have an orange tint to it all over. Are you pretty much happy with the color between the way you saw it and what they ended up with?
I am not being critical. I have not had anything run in a magazine, but I have heard that color correction is a science in printing..color bleed etc..
I have only had things run in newsprint and on-line, so reproduction quality is never an issue.

I would kill to have a cover like that....

very nice shot Jim, but i'm not surprised, your motorsport pics are TOP SHELF.

The scan isn't all that great and I didn't correct anything on my end. On the bottom part of the photo the orange is reflected in the water from the boat. The water above the boat is not the correct color, but shows correct on the actual magazine.

They did the photos justice and a simple 150dpi scan off a flatbed with no post is only a weak representation at best.

And, you have a right to be critical, and I appreciate it. You're a photographer. ;)

Fantastic Jim. Congrats! Now I have to go over to Michigan Avenue (there is a stand that sells EVERY magazine over there) to get a copy. That's ok though. I am happy for you.

Nice work, Jim.

And I notice that like a good photog, you left room at the top of the shot for the masthead.

Of course, you have to be subtle about that. Wouldn't want anyone to think you were gunning for a cover shot, now would we?

Great work Jim! The quality of your work is stunning and your matriculation to success is inspiring.

I'm sure this cover is just the beginning of many more acknowledgements of your talent.
