The more I decide to get involved in photography, the more sources of information I want to have handy that can give me information on whatever I might have questions about. So I wanted to see if I could get input from you all about it... if a thread like this exists, I apologize, if you could just link me to it, I'd appreciate it.
Otherwise, I'd greatly appreciate any input anyone can provide for me.

I'm looking for websites, books, whatever, that provide useful information regarding photography (particularly digital photography) and post-processing of photographs.
A few links I've found both in my own searches and from various threads on this forum include:

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/digital-blending.shtml
http://www.photo.net/learn/raw/

I also previously know about
http://www.steves-digicams.com/
and
http://www.dpreview.com/

As I'm still extremely new to photography in general, I recently found a book at Barnes & Noble for 40% off, so I got it... entitled "How to Do Everything with Digital Photography" by Dave Huss. From what I've read of it so far, it seems to be quite informative for newbies.

Thanks!

I suggest that you find a local community college or adult education center. Sometimes they have good courses in either digital photography or else traditional photography. Once that is under your belt, then use the web resources to fill in the details.

I'm still in college (going into my 3rd year at UNC Chapel Hill this fall) and I would love to take a photography class if I could get in. My understanding is that the class is hard to get into, plus you have to provide you own equipment (which may or may not be a problem depending on how much stuff I'd need).

I was contemplating if it'd be worth my time (and if I'd have time since it wouldn't be in my major requirements)... I'll look more into it, thanks Bob.

The big university will offer better courses in really heavy subjects. However, a simple community college or adult education center will often have classes in photography that really aren't that heavy. I mean, they are for ordinary people. Where I live, the local community parks and recreation commission even teaches some photo classes. Take something simple first, and then move your way to something tougher only if you get the satisfaction out of it.

I attended a weekend photo seminar by the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. I don't think I learned anything technical, but it was mildly inspirational. I guess it just depends on where you are coming from and what you are seeking.

"Photography" has a lot of different meanings.

Here's a link, to a page full of links that Mike Kirby (a user of this forum) was kind enough to put together. Chock full o' nuts....

Here's another link with tons of useful information, from yet another user of this forum. Really insightful, technical explanations to many things concerning digital photography...

Bob, you make another great point... with me being new to photography, I'm not entirely sure how well suited the course(s) at UNC would be for me... I'll have to see what they involve before trying to get into them.
I know we have a community college kind of nearby, maybe I'll take a look and see what they have to offer as well.

And thanks Laziferous, those 2 links look great!

Move to Georgia! Then live here for a while, and you can get the HOPE grant, free money to go to school for any non degree certificate or diploma program at any approved school. Just check this out what Gwinnett tech offers: http://www.gwinnetttechnicalcollege.com/subpages/programsofstudy/outlines/commercialphotographydiploma.asp
I would take it myself but I am going in a different area at a different school, medical billing. I'm not confident in my photography to make a living from it. But I would love to. The Hope Grant would cover almost all of this program. So if anyone who lives in Georgia reads this, check it out!

I've been to Georgia a few times, as well as other places, but I always feel much more at home here in North Carolina :)
I highly doubt I'd be able to make a living at photography (even if I wanted to try that), but I'd still love to develop my ability. Right now I'm going to school for Information Science, as my first main interest lies with computers... that led to Photoshop editing, which led to wanting to take my own photos to edit.. which is how I got here!

doh! I hadn't even ventured into the EOS forum since I don't own one yet, so I haven't seen those stickies... I'll definitely check them out, thanks!
