Darn good! The first and third ones are awesome... and I like the one where the bird's approaching the keeper :)

Stunningly good! Did it get a little hot out there?
If you ever get down to the SD Wild Animal Park, they have some bird shows with lots of species, and a couple of different demos w/Falcons. One is with the Cheetah Run Show.

So it appears that you were shooting in aperture priority mode. If so, would you shoot w/shutter priority next time?
A zoo get together might be fun. The museum near usc has a butterfly exhibit through Labor Day I think. I've tried shooting there a couple of times but haven't been too satisfied w/results.

Butterflies you say? that sounds delightful, as long as theyre not behind glass heh
I did manage to get a couple butterfly shots at the zoo just as i was walkin by, but theyre pretty hard to focus on being so tiny and moving so erratically. but I guss thats what makes it fun.

yeah I was shooting aperture priority. should I have done TV? or just set a minimum shutter speed of like 1000 and then an iso safety shift? i wanted the aperture to be open enough to get a good SS but closed enough to get the whole bird and be a little forgiving on the focus. and a nice bokeh'd background.
tbh i nevre really do BIF so i dont know what settings most people use, esp with the CF's and all. is there some sort of quick guide for all the settings on the mk3
