I wonder how many are still using dialup connections? I know that there must be some since a few people put a warning on large posts to give the dialup users a fair warning.

My own connection at home is a ADSL 3072/768 Kbit.

This is slightly off-topic, but encouraging nonetheless.

On our recent trip to New York and back, we spent roughly 12 nights in hotels. In all those hotels except one, broadband was available, occasionally for free, and in two cases, the service was wireless.
The only hotel that didn't offer it at all was in western Pennsylvania FWIW.

Ooooops. I guess I'm repeating myself. We'll attribute that to old age. Sorry.

Now you're repeating yourself about repeating yourself. You attributed it to old age last time, too.

Tom, we count on you to repeat yourself. If only so we can laugh again. Besides, if you didn't repeat yourself we'd get posts about "One way to shoot 400" and stuff like that.

:) :) :)

Don't worry, I bet some didn't see it and now they got a new chance to know :D

Too bad we can't answer more than once... I have dialup at home, but my computer at work is on a T1 line, and that's where I do most of my surfing here.

My uplad speed has always been great. Recently I had to get the provider out to repair the port near my home. My upload speed was 14kbit/sec.
After the repair I'm back to 2080 kbits/sec download and 681 kbits/sec upload. Rock and roll baby! :D

Comcast recently ran a deal where if you got their digital cable you got there cable internet for $15....what it boils down to is that we're paying $30 a month for the 200 some odd TV stations (including HBO and Cinimax) and $30 for the 3mbit internet connection...blissful :-)

1024 at home, untill the corporate mind police tightened up the filters I had blinding speed at work. Now when you hit the URL at work you get the Big Brother is watching you message, the interesting thing is it clasifies this site as porn :?

Interesting...the utility for my broadband claims 288Kbps upstream/576kbps downstream and will leave it at that. It is one of the many flavours of ADSL. I forgot to mention it is about £25 ($47.50) a month!

My dialup connection is so slow I get yesterdays newspaper tomorrow.

I am cheap. I still have 4 cents of the first nickel I ever made.
