It is time for me to upgrade my memory (size). 2 X 256 CF II and 1 X 512 CF I is just not cutting it. I will donate those cards to my wife for use with her G5 ...

I have actually found a shop here (Finland) that has SanDisk CF II Ultra 1 GB on the shelf for 225 EUR. However, the salesman from this shop that has sold me all of my gear for the last five years, suggested the Pretec 1GB Cheetah 80X Compact Flash Card instead - 325 EUR.

I am just wondering if the extra speed is worth the extra cost considering that I "only" have a 10D.

I photograph a lot of sports/action stuff.

Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

The 10D is limited by the buffer. Check the CF Card Database at www.robgalbraith.com

The Pretec might be faster than the Sandisk, but I don't think it is 100 Euros faster...

Seriously, none of the fast cards will work up to their full potential in a 10D. Do you have a need to have the fastest card available? I use Ultra IIs in my Drebel even though I know they are somewhat being wasted. But I don't think I could justify that much of a price increase for the small improvement the Pretec will give.

Have Fun,

Thank you for affirming what I was thinking all along!

SanDisk Ultra II is on the way.
