Straight from the camera, with compression for attachment here. shot with the 50mm 1.8 yesterday. I love the DOF and Bokeh with this lens.

Not bad for an unprocessed shot :). The light is very soft and flattering.

Very cute shot. Very nice exposure and soft light You shot this at F2.5 and I think F2.8 or even F3.2 may have been a better choise so you would have the left eye just as sharp as the right eye. :)

I love her beginning curls. Can't wait to see what she'll look like in a couple of years with longer hair. :D

I shot it on P mode, and forgot how shallow the DOF can be. Good suggestion for this lens. I think I still had enough light to pull the 3.2 you suggest without too much blur; they move fast ya know.
Thanks all for the comments too.

Is that your daugther hawk? Adorable, love the portrait, the nifty does well - I need to play with mine more for sure but it takes some nice shots.
Her hair is just like my girls...keep LOTS of untangling conditioner on hand, its gonna be a PITA to keep untangled when it gets longer, trust me!

Thanks Sue. I don't keep the nifty out enough because FL needs are so different with a toddler. My wife is pretty static, in that she won't come near the camera near as often as I want.
Must work on taking more shots with this lens.
BTW- she takes after Mom in the looks department.
I like this one too, but it suffers a bit in the focus dept.

Oh I totally hear ya, I think a zoom is better for me with childrens portraits just becuz my hand zooms faster than my feet. It takes some nice stuff tho. LOL your wife sounds like me...I don't go near a camera unless I get to be behind it. It shall be interesting to see the family portraits in a week and a half. I'm setting it up and having a relative help with the snapping so we can get some half decent ones since I don't think I can get an extension cord for my remote that's long enough for what I want.
She's gorgeous tho...I have a feeling she'll look somewhat similar to my daugther when she's older, she had the same curls and blue eyes....her curls have turned more to ringlets or what do you call those, almost like long corkscrews curls in the back. A pain to keep up with but adorable. ;)
*shivers* a raw lemon? LOL Brave little girl...I'll take it but as lemonade only. LOL You got to share more, she's so pretty - makes for a good subject.

Thanks again Sue. I was in a bit of a slump, but I'm coming out of it now. More pictures of both (hopefully) on the way.
