So does that mean there would be room for another? I have a non-POTN photographer buddy from Sydney who wouldn't mind coming along as well. Can I tell him he's in?

It turns out I am a member after all.. :)

A photographer friend of mine from Port is tagging along as well - she shoots Olympus, though, so we have to try and convert her eh? ;)

Ugh. She's getting to my place at 3.30am. It's sounding more tempting to stay up and skip sleep altogether but I think I'm going to resist...

Wow. A female! haha.
If my friend John comes, it sounds like he will bring his g/f, so she won't be the only girl (not sure if that bothers her or not?)

::John::

ok - by now - 5:20am EDT - you guys (and gals) will be out on the beach waiting for the sun.

I hope the trip went smoothly and none of you buried your axles...

Looking forward to the pics and different interpretations.

I called the Stockton Centre admin about that wheelchair and it was one of theirs, they had some "trouble" there last night and were quite happy we noticed it!

Matt :)

Thanks guys, I had a ball :) Was great to get out and meet up with you all. Special thank you to the guys who brought their 4x4s to make it possible.

Some great ones there Jim, especially that first one, that's a winner.

I think I might have one or two keepers.. will have to wait and see, too tired to process them right now :)

If you're going to be without bandwidth for an extended time, I'd be happy to host your photos if you want to mail me a CD/DVD.

I got my film back today, there are a few shots decent enough to scan. Not bad considering I was just mucking around with the film camera to use up the rest of the roll I started at our office Melbourne Cup party. I'll try and get them scanned tomorrow.

I also got a couple of my digital shots printed. 9700 (http://www.shakesbeare.com/gallery/v/places/nsw-central-coast/sygna/IMG_9700.jpg.html) looks great at 18x12"

Thread resurrection time.

How bout a sunrise shoot in the morning.

I'm thinking, Kooragang wetlands, meet at the entrance opposite Hexham maccas.

Thoughts??

ofdphoto
29th of August 2008 (Fri), 08:51
No takers?

Ok, well, I'm planning to be at the entrance opposite Maccas at 5.45am.

I've never been inside the wetlands ... ever ... so it might be crap and we might need to drive up the highway a bit to find some nice fog, cows and farmhouses.

My mobile number is 0403 300 372 if anyone wants to find me.

Hi guy's

If you are still getting together for a meet sometime soon I'd love to join you. I'm in Cooks Hill and have my own transport. I'm a 9 to 5er usually so weekends are mostly free.

I've been into DSLR photography [Canon 40D] since late February so are still at the bottom of the learning curve.

I would sure like to get some tips off all you pros! :)

PS - I should be hopefully purchasing my 3rd (and probably final] lens this weekend - a Canon 24-70mm. I've in the past stayed clear of NDF Camera House because of the prices they [have to] charge. For whatever reason, they seem to be very competitive at the moment; Discount Digital Photographics = $1685 delivered, NDF Camera House = $1650 cash.

I remember a while back I couldn't afford to shop there!

cheers,
J&D

Canon Australia not long ago had a price drop to bring their lenses more in-line with what you can get grey market... good marketing decision for them :p

There's regular small things happening around Newcastle... I'll PM you next time something's happening if you miss the discussion here or in the POTNAC thread!
