Hi all -

We have a new arrival on the way -- well -- any day now. We were at Target (that's /tar-ZHAY/ to you...) today looking at birth announcements and it occured to me that I might be able to use an online printing service to do them...

I've yet to use either Ofoto or Mpix. I have been wanting to try Mpix for a while, but from their site (http://www.mpix.com/productsinfo.aspx) it looks like the only thing you can get on an announcement is a generic "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" Browsing Ofoto, I found an adorable announcement here (http://www.ofoto.com/PGCOverview.jsp?&c=l_baby_pgclearn_text).

I'll probably go with Ofoto since I can customize the announcement with his name, etc., but searching through the forums I came across a few posts from users who were unhappy with the results from Ofoto. Granted, I'm not looking to do a 20x30 wall hanging, but I just wanted to see if many folks have had luck with Ofoto and see if there was anything else I was overlooking...

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations!

I have used Ofoto for a family Christmas greeting, and they do a decent job. It's very convenient, though not the cheapest you will find.

When our 2nd daughter was born I printed the pics on textured cardstock and placed a sheet of translucent vellum on top, tied together with a pink bow. It was less expensive overall, but far more time consuming. However I think it was worth the effort for such a special event. Not to dissuade you from using the pre-formatted cards, but it's just an alternative to consider.

Best wishes to you, mom and the newborn. We expect you to share the announcement pic!

I thought about doing my own, but I don't know about the quality of my old Epson 740 printer....

Thanks for the kind wishes -- you can bet you'll be seeing a picture soon!

Congratulations !

I just would like to say that we have released a software dedicated to photo sharing. It's a free way to share your photos with your contacts (family, friends, etc.) with no storage limitation.

I really would like to know what you think of this new way of sharing photos. Hope you will like it  !

You can find it here : http://www.pixvillage.com.

Thanks !
