Would you recomend the Dyna-Lite XP1100?

I am trying to decide between the Honda generator or the Dyna-Lite for portable power for my two 500w Monolights and curious if any of you guys had any experience with using the Dyna-lite and would recomend it? Thanks in advance! I promise no more questions because I have to make a decision by tomorrow afternoon:)

You are comparing and apple and an orange...both 'feed you' but are otherwise different. A battery pack vs. a generator, one is silent the other intrusive.

The Dynalites have gotten a lot of good reports from users.

Do you ever need to fly with your gear to another location?...if so, the generator is not permissible.

One runs for as long as you have gas, the other runs down and requires recharging every 200 shots (or less, with modelling lights)

Thank you for the feedback Wilt! I did read up on both and am aware of each others shortcomings but am more curious about real world use. I will not be flying anytime soon, but that doesn't mean that the occasion will not come up. Basically I am fine with the specs on both on paper, but wasn't sure about how reliable they were of if they had issues I am missing somewhere. Right now I am leaning towards the Dyna-lite just wanted to make sure it wasn't a lemon by asking users their opinion before I spend 1300 dollars:)

Dynalite makes great stuff for location work...the small size and light weight for equivalent output power, compared to the competitive products! Their power source stuff is quite good, also, and I have never heard any large groups of users pan any of the products. You need to decide if 200 shots per charge is enough, or if you need to buy supplmental replacement batteries (relatively low in price compared to the base unit!), to tide you over for a single shooting before you are forced to recharge everything.

The Honda EU line of generators are VERY quiet. The EU3000is is somewhere around the sound in a living room or private office. http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/db.htm
