Nice shots Rob, but I don't quite get the sequence here. Did he have to hover to open the door to the barn then fly in? :)

I thought that might be the case. Interesting shots though, showing a nest box I never knew they would use.

Neat shots of this owl. I like the context. It is considered an endangeed species up here in Ontario, Canada.

A wonderful Owl I would love to see one day. Nice captures and interesting to see that they use a nest box.

Lovely pictures, it certainly is a strange place for a barn owl to nest.........if they do use boxes arn`t they normally high up in tree`s?

A few farmers put these boxes up in the UK just for the owl's and they often use them .

this box although not high is fenced off and well of the track so hopefully they will be fine.
i do keep well back from the box so i dont disturb them.

I like the motion blur in the wings....interesting that they would nest in boxes. Nice work.

Nice shots, Rob.....It seems like our Barn Owls are just a bit darker in color, but I could be wrong on that. As hard as I've tried, I've never been able to get a shot of those guys during the day time.
