What focal length did you use, and how far awy were they?

I was with my family in the Outer Banks of North Carolina last week watching some guys getting some serious air like this. Camera was back at the house though...

The first one was taken at 135mm and the second at 400 mm. ISO 400, 1,500 shutter speed and at F8
