Hi Guys!

Im thinkin of buying a portable flash kit, with some kind of generator or battery?! Im doin quite a bit of location bandshooting, and i really wanna upgrade from my 580.

I have seen various flashkits on ebay, but I dont know what to look for...

it is important that there is a source of power with me, coz there is no electricity where im goin.

My pricerange is 1000$, hopefully less :-)

alien bees has a good kit for what you're looking for. you could also check out some cheaper lights and buy the vagabond power source from alien bees. i use interfit stellar 300w/s lights and they're just as good (IMHO) and cheaper than AB800's.

It looks like you're outside the states so getting Bees will be more difficult and/or costly. It's too bad as the new Vagabond II looks like it'd be just what you need.

It may be worth looking into even if you get other lights - the Vagabond should work with any non-digital strobes.

You probably want 220V lights right? Shop here:

If you want the grand-daddy of all portable flash units, go with Elinchrom or Hensel. Elinchrom is just awesome, really. The Skyports are also the cherry on the top.

ABs will be good for the budget, the new Vagabond looks really awesome.
