I was trying for perched images when I shot this. It was shot about a year ago, and was simply one more repetition of a lesson best learned and followed: When perched birds fly, keep the burst going, because you can get some very sweet images. The instinct when shooting perched birds is to take my finger off the shutter and wait for the bird to perch again, but it's a BAD instinct. I like this one much better than any of those easy perched shots, though I was shooting those perched images for a client with that specific need. The blurred wings reminded me of illustrations of angels I saw in the religious books of my youth.
