We see these quite often while gardening, but this is the firt time I've had the opportunity to photograph one (not knowing until just now what it was).

Then I found out they're not the rapacious predator that I expected them to be, but herbivores, eating my plants from beneath.
Think I'll be leaving them out as birdfood from now on instead of respectfully burying them back in my flowerbeds....!
