It is pretty small, some vignetting that make the in focus flower stand out a bit more and some curves play.

Ah, OK, I see it now. Dummy me. The vignetting on B is slight, but, yeah, it brings focus to the flahrs more.

Speaking of shutters...

We had a flag retirement ceremony that we do this time of year with our scout troop. One of the parents had a Pentax K10d. It had to have the most annoying shutter I have EVER heard. It is was twice as loud and lasted twice as long as the 20d/30 slap. It was almost distracting.

Hi All, an Good Night.

Spent the evening getting all our gear packed up ready to load on Thursday as I have to go party tomorrow night. Just about have everything ready to go (one good thing about having all the gear you need in one storage area). A bit of fresh food to pack up Thursday, and we are good to go. :)

I skimmed through tonights posts is all.
Dan, does everyone get to try out that neat cloak, I like it. And your 'Big rock in the ocean' shot is my fav, a definite framer.

Jamie, WTG on the 40D. Let us know all your impressions as you give it a go. If they are out in the stores here when I get back from my trip, I just might be tempted to pick one up. :)

Well, that's what I thought before. I think I'm just settling on what I'm happy with. The results out of the primes are stupendous.

EDIT: Though I still do have to wonder Pete......Who's Bill?

Well, it's not in the same class as L grade glass, but I received a delivery on Friday...

Here it is in situ - this also qualifies as the workstation shot I promised a while back.

The USB lead to connect it to the printer that I ordered at the same time... is due to be delivered tomorrow  As it stands, the old printer has been disconnected so I can play ;)

Woot!! I have the 6600 and love it. I need to colour profile it though, things are coming out a bit green. When you figure out how to do that, would you be so kind as to tell me how too?

I think these are my two favorites from the Sunday shoot with TD. Sunrise at Haystack Rock:

Woah!!!!

Wu - have you read The Time Travelors Wife (http://www.amazon.com/Time-Travelers-Wife-Audrey-Niffenegger/dp/1596921536/ref=pd_bbs_4/104-3908194-0263130?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189558883&sr=8-4)? It's quite good! :)

Yeah, one of my favourite books, that is. I just love the intertwining of the storylines and the inevitable end.

Here is a shot from a morning just shortly when I got home from Oregon

Oooooooooh!!!

Thank You!

Jamie, it's perfectly acceptable for blokes to blubber like girls when it comes to their mothers. Everything you said is right on the nail, dads are great, mothers are wonderful. Feel for her, man, and don't be ashamed about it.

Yes an excellent read.

If you could only travel in time once and for only for 20 minutes where and to what time would you go?

My selfish thoughts are, to a news agent (newspaper shop) next week. I would leave with all the winning lottery numbers, all the sports results and stock prices and enough information to ensure that I never have to work again :-)

I swabbed my sensors, buffed the gear and packed it up last weekend. It was the first thing I got together. I knew I would have no time for shooting this week.

I am sure you will get some shots equally as good or better than those Becky. Wildlife shots are way easier to get in parks where the animals have no fear of humans. Deep in the back country it is much tougher, as they bolt as soon as they get wind of you.

A filter holder and GND filters are one of the things on my list to get. I have had many instances where they would come in handy. Either that or I have to get used to taking a couple shots exposing the dark and light areas and merging the two (as well as learning how to do this). I am taking 14.5 Mb of CF cards, so should have a bit of room for playing a bit. I also want to try some multiple pano shots and stitching them together. Something I have wanted to do for ages. I have 5 batteries so should be just fine with power.

After further reading, we should have gone with a holder system...we'll see how this works out. We will each have 7.5G of CF for a total of 15G and the laptop to download to at night. We will also have the inverter in the car so we can charge as we drive. My goal is also to try a multiple pano shot or two. My biggest goal, as I'm sure you will agree...relax, have fun, and enjoy.:D

I won't have the luxury of being able to download any photos except for the ones taken prior to launch. I will have my laptop and converter in the car so the batteries will be on full when we hit the water.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind I will be enjoying myself and getting a great rest from my regular life (whatever that is). Whenever I leave town, whether heading to our rec property, or out on a trip, I always am able to push all the dark thoughts outta me wee brain. ;) I think it has to do with the fact there is absolutely nothing I could do about them, even if I want. :)

Tsunami warnings for your other homeland...big quakes in Indonesia. :(I was just reading about that. It seems Indo and Malaysia are at odds as to whether or not there should be a tsunami warning right now. Indo called it off, Malaysia says they have detected a 1-3 meter wave. An update from them should come very soon now.

When it comes to reading things in colors, it gets kinda slow going. I can barely make any sense out of blue writing. just looks like squiggles unless I concentrate really hard. Other colors are perceived similarly but blues are the worst.

How many post per page do you have? I have 50 set in my user cp and there were only 2 pages....so for me it was at about post 25 where the OP stopped and then tried to edit his posts, then tried to delete the thread until a mod took care of it.

The writing is difficult to see sometimes. I have trouble also....one way I get around it is to click and highlight to read and move on.

It was a crazy, freaky all over the board thread by the OP saying that the chat games are a waste of time and should be moved to their own board.

I really don't know at this point! I think I'm happy for now, but waiting to see what needs crop up. Gotta say that I love the recent spendies:-

135L
85L
24-70L

All been wonderful. Very surprised that the 135mm is such a great focal length.

Who needs a 70-200? Pah...

The concert was incredible. VERY very good! It was more like a rock concert than a country one.

We had a blast, lots of laughing, didn't get home till about 4 AM.

I took the little snapper with me so I got a few pics. It doesn't do real well in low light. :? Oh well.
