OK EVERYONE LISTEN UP! FOR ROOM RENOVATION HERE IS YOUR TASK. (IF YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT)

Over the next 24 hours you must come up with a new avatar for yourself. A new SelfPortrait is preferred but not required. However the Avatar assignment should reflect something about yourself (if you choose not to do a new SP). I am not talking about something obvious like me posting using Silvee, I am talking something deep. So put some thought into it and we will meet again and see how creative we can be.

Now to mark your new Avatar. In your First Post with your new avatar post NEW AVATAR in BOLD BLUE letters Font Size 4 so that we all don't miss it.

You don't have to particiapate if you dont want to, but we all will know who don't.

I would have participated.

What would you guys do without my dirty mind to help you along?
Think dirty thoughts... Duh!

Naw, got to hit 90 before you are middle aged.

I'm ok then. I only hit 90 on the motorways when nobody's looking (the equivalent of the Interstate) Oh, wait...

BTW 41 on the 29th of this month :D

You guys are not going to believe what happened to me today at lunch. I ran home for a moment. Stopped buy Guthries and picked up a Box. (which is chicken fingers, fries and two pieces of toast for thoses who don't know) I had eaten one finger and a couple of fries and a bite of the toast. I was sitting at my desk. A friend stopped by the house. I went out side and talked to him for a few minutes. When I came back inside, I had no chicken, no fries and no toast. But the box was still nice placed on the desk where I left it. Eli's little head was bowed and his little sad eyes were looking up at me begging for forgivness. My question is if he knew he should not have eaten my lunch why did he?

I hate to point this out to you, Jamie, but I would worry about where Guthries get their chickens! Normal chickens do not have fingers!

They don't have farms based near a nuclear facility do they?

Whoa, think of the right pondians when they wake up and try to do the morning catch up. Deb too.

Tell me about it  confusion worse confounded! I (like Permie) nearly had heart failure when I saw that RRTP and TPBMChat parts 1 had been locked!

What the...? End of TPBM chat #1? Just when I was about to post up some underwear...

Go for it Athena, no need to let the new thread stop you.

I never said I would be in the underwear! geesh guys...

I knew you't have ideas like that. I still like your 'red swimsuit' shot ;)

Yeah. I can't do facial hair. When I'm not in the office, I don't bother shaving, but after too long, it starts getting itchy, so I have to take it all off again..
I too do not like the feeling of long hair on my face, I also hate shaving. It is such a dilema. That was the one side effect of chemotheraphy I liked, my face stayed smooth as a baby's bottom for a while. :)

Last? Last? You weren't last. I was not even on the page. It's the penalty us shy retiring types have to face

A question, There are lots of people posting pictures in the people section from their VBS (I had to ask what it stood for  )

One of the things that I noticed in the pictures is that many feature the National Flag. Is it common for the Stars and Stripes to be displayed in churches in the US?

Please don't read anything into this as I am just curious, I would have posted the question in one of the threads that had the pictures but was afraid that people may make more of the question than there is to make and then drag the thread OT.

Sorry, you're very right.. I was last on THAT list, but certainly not THE last.

Curious how you get to see a list like that?

Neil, we are a flag-happy nation. It flies everywhere. Very common to find Old Glory in churches, especially now that there are so many prayers for the troops.

Hey- if you have a fig leaf, I'll try shooting it. can't guarantee how it will turn out. I have very few flora shots that aren't "different"- It's just the way I see them.

I am curious as to what Glow Boy will say. :)

Jamie- come to Texas and we can shoot flowers.

especially now that there are so many prayers for the troops.

I was wondering if that was the reason. It is not like that here at all, if it were not for news coverage of losses you would not even know we had troops out there.

Thanks

Athena, awesome flower. What is your method for getting the white background like that? I like it a lot. You've got some fine flaher shooting skills!Thankee. Honestly I hardly remember the setup for that shot - it's ages old. I do remember that I shot it 'round the back of my first house in Thailand in the setting sun. ;)

Wow, you should see our bumper stickers and magnetic ribbons all over the place. And billboards. And window signs. We are an obsessed nation, methinx.Hasn't really slowed down much since 9/11. We came back in December after 9/11 and were amazed by how everyone had a flag flying - we had to stop and think what month Flag Day is in (June I think).

It was the house behind them. They were potted in one of those cheap black plastic pot things and I decided to spray them and run out back to photograph them in the last rays of the day. It was a race against the sun. ;)

Now that you mention it, most of my flower shots do have black or blue backgrounds... hmmm....
