I am still working through my pictures from France and I have just processed one that I really like. It was late afternoon and Teresa was taking a very tired Gina in from the pool. I have captured a loverly moment that is both touching and funny. I can't post the pic as it may break some rules and it is definitely not right for the G&N forum.

OK , a few snaps of the walls.

1. I collect Willow Tree figurines (http://www.cherrylanecollection.com/figurine.htm), and my mom gave me this wall hanging. (the plant is some weird bamboo thing that Wade's dad gave us. )

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/cfpackerfan/For%20POTN/IMG_1279-01.jpg

2. My 'special' spot. Bad framing, no rhyme or reason, but every piece here was received at a different time in my life, and every one has some sort of special meaning to me.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/cfpackerfan/For%20POTN/IMG_1281-01.jpg

3. Down the hallway. Each of the kids has a birthday keepsake. (http://www.bkeepsakes.com/)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/cfpackerfan/For%20POTN/IMG_1282-01.jpg

4. My favorite wall (and the cleanest, lol...) in the hallway of the remodeled section of our house. These are some of my prints that I did in the darkroom.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/cfpackerfan/For%20POTN/IMG_1285-01.jpg

5. I also collect fairies. Though they have all been banished to the bathroom. Here is a small sampling:

Nice looking place you got there, Athena (are you still trying to sell it?). I sure wouldn't want to have the job of trying to keep that carpet clean, though! The idea to sell this place never got off the ground this summer. Maybe next year... And the carpet is a nightmare with two small boys! This was the model home in the development, so the carpet wasn't chosen for functionality. I think it should be ripped out and replaced with hardwood flooring. :)

1. I collect Willow Tree figurines (http://www.cherrylanecollection.com/figurine.htm), and my mom gave me this wall hanging. (the plant is some weird bamboo thing that Wade's dad gave us. ) I love Willow Trees - so beautiful (where are yours?). I don't have a single one though. :(
That bamboo plant is special - take good care of it! :D

3. Down the hallway. Each of the kids has a birthday keepsake. (http://www.bkeepsakes.com/)Matthew has one of these - I never ordered Nathan's!

4. My favorite wall (and the cleanest, lol...) in the hallway of the remodeled section of our house. These are some of my prints that I did in the darkroom. My favorite too. Very nice Cat. :D

I'll take a shot in a bit... they are on the shelf of my entertainment center. I have 10 of them, each given to my by different people at different times for different reasons, and they all fit the emotion of the time perfectly.

Thanks Cat. I wish I had pictures of our real house to show. I'll have to do that when we get back. It's far more interesting. :D I think all I have with me is a shot I did (Crocs around the world - remember) of the front of that house.

A lifetime of Love
New Life
Angel of Harmony
Child's touch
Serenity
Sisters by heart
Angel of healing
Heart and Soul
Hope
Tenderness

They are probably all on that site I linked to earlier.

I have an engraver, and I engrave the bottoms with the date, and who gave it to me.

10 Bonus points if anyone can guess the 3 books on the right.

I'll be lurking, but not really participating much over the next few days. I've got to finish a writing project before my daughter's wedding, actually before we visit them in a week, and I'm no where near done. So, while I'm sure my absence will not create panic in the streets, I just thought that I'd put that info out there on the odd chance someone says, "Hey, where's that guy that usually sits at the end of the bar?"

I'm so misunderstood....

That last shot I put up was my R/C car going round in circles. I did it in flash burst mode, about ten flashes in the space of less than a second. I'm really just playing around with techniques... One of these days I'll do something worthwhile.

I'd like to see you do that shot with a real car, Jamie!!
I hope to do it really soon. If you prefect the technique first it would help ;):D
Don't be sad Beckster. I noticed. ;) You got a breast reduction.

Pete - I like your card. I like what you are trying to get with your 2nd curtain synchs, I've seen you work at these before until you get exactly what you are after. Can't wait for the final results

It's called Lucky Bamboo - often given as a gift at Chinese New Year. I think the ones with 6 stalks are for HEALTH. It's a feng shui thing. A lot of times, they come with red ribbons and are usually in ceramic or glass pots. You should put a coin in your pot since it's plastic.

In reality, it's not even bamboo, but it is a very hearty and I think attractive plant. It can even live in just water (I had it in a huge vase with a fighting fish living between the stalks). Feed it bottled or filtered water though. It doesn't like chemicals. :)

Who has exciting labor day plans?? :D Riding with hounds 7AM tomorrow and Monday, if I have the energy. This requires a 3:45am wake up to get to the barn, groom and tack the boys, load them on the trailer, and drive to the fixture we will ride from.

btw...these are for way back when, when someone asked what we have on our walls (I'm a little slow). (taken with the olympus which is the noisiest little camera, even with flash)

Really pretty and thanks everyone who has shared their walls and house, it is like visiting. I will post a few shots when I get around to shooting the walls. I cannot share too much of the house as it is a wreck right now. Reminds me of a song by the Wallflowers
"This place is always such a mess
Sometimes I think I'd like to watch it burn
I'm so alone, and I feel just like somebody else
Man, I ain't changed, but I know I ain't the same
But somewhere here in between the city walls of dyin' dreams"

Speaking of Mini ..here are some fun pics of her vacation

I'm popping out of lurk mode 'cause I have the next week off and maybe I can keep up a little bit!

First thing on the agenda is to clean out my garden which was completely neglected this summer while I took care of Magilla (who is 100% btw :D ). The other project is a day at one of my schools taking photos!! :D The principal wants some shots of the kids that they can include in the school newsletter. I did a similar project a while back for another school and had a total blast. Complete and total free reign to wander the halls of an elementary school!

I'm working on this book, in case you were wondering. I posted some excerpts months ago, but have since let it settle on the back burner. Now I've got to finish it up.

Here's another excerpt (BTW, "excerpt" is a funny word. Just thought you'd want to know.)

If you were ever to attend a wedding, notice the crowd. The women are, in all ways, fascinated and interested in every detail of the ceremony. Young single women will be looking at the entire proceedings to see if there is anything that will work with their forming wedding plans. They will note with pleasure the positioning of the flowers and make a mental note to incorporate that into their own plans. Other items will be vetoed as being incompatible. Older married women will compare their wedding to the one they now attend. A running dialogue will going on in her head as she sees if the seating arrangement is better than her seating arrangement of twenty years ago.

Suffice it to say that the women in the audience are fixated with the wedding to one degree or another. It’s what is center stage in their minds.

The men, however, are thinking something less complex. Almost to a man, they are thinking, “How did I get here? Why am I wearing uncomfortable clothes? Where’s the food?”

This line of thinking, of course, includes the Groom.

The groom's book has been an ongoing thing, and I'll hopefully have the rough draft done by the end of the week. I'm trying to edit it now, but all I'm doing is adding more to it. The end result is theoretically include some illustrations, but, c'mon, it's going to take forever for that to happen.

As for the blurb book, Lisa and I have thrown the idea around a bit. But, like the Groom's book, who knows....
