Anyone know the story on this. I have been waiting on B & H to get the 580 EXII in stock as I need a second unit and today the message is it is discontinued. Seems a little strange since the flash just came on the market.

Bad for B & H as I have been waiting to spend a little over a grand on a new 580 and some pocket wizards. Looks like Adorama gets the biz.

I use them both and sometimes Adorama is better for prices. And you will love the PW. They work great.

the 580EX II is not discontinued. The 580EX is discontinued. You must have seen the "II" as in "E-TTL II"

It is very possible. Ill take another look.

Yep that was it. That is what I get for always looking at my wish list and thinking I had updated it.

Just looked at the B&H site for the 580EX II, it's just not available at this time to be sold alone. They have it with the transmitter but not by itself. Not discontinued. It's only a few months old.

Suzy, are you sure you looked in the right place? It is in stock and available.

The best way to find the 580EX II at B&H Photo online is to search on "Canon Speedlite". Using something like "580EX II" will usually not yield what you are looking for, as odd as that may sound. :)

yeah suzy I know what you're talking about...you have to look in flashes & access>flashes>canon. it will be right there @ the top. i don't know why the search doesn't work.

LOL i did that too when they first discontinued the 580(thinking it was the II) i was like they just released this thing......
