Stunners, stunners! They are all just so organic but mystical. I am curious how you find the 1DMIII for concerts?

To anyone looking to get into music photography and need someone to aspire to, id say KMB is a fine example.

I keep coming back to these shots and others to get myself excited about shooting again.

Thanks for posting.

I'm still sort of getting used to it. The biggest issue I have with it is that the focusing points are more like focusing rectangles and if somethigng contrasty from the background gets inside one of those, the camera happily focuses into the bacground (even though I'd assume it to focus based on the contrast difference created between the main subject's edge and the bg - which often much steeper than anything in the background).

Other than that, the ISO3200 really is about as good as ISO1600 on 5D. Very nice.

#3 is marvelous.
#1, 2, 4 and 5 are even better then that. Very, very good. Some poster shots there.

#7 might be a bit on the dark side.
#6 & 8 don't blow my hair back.

Only metadata in two? And pretty scrawny IPTC info! As for the MIII, there is apparently a firmware upgrade, 1.0.9, coming near the near the end of July that is supposed to address that contrasty background AF focus issue. I am waiting to hear the results before I buy a couple.

Thanks!

what kind of lens did you use?

I have used Canon EF 24-70/2.8 and Canon EF 70-200/2.8 IS for these.
