if you don't have a remote flash, you can use any bright light source inside the car. you could also merge multiple photos taken at different exposures.

take 2 flashlights and stand them up on the floor on both driver and passenger side.

One word..... Photoshop

1. Take the shot of the car, convert to B&W
2. Convert bact to color
3. 'Select' the seat areas
4. Color as needed and enhance or saturate as needed.

He knows that it was done in Photoshop guys. He's asking about the photographer's technique.

Think I like the flashlights in the seats idea mentioned above. Remotes might be too strong that close to the seats.

I doubt there is any lighting in the seats. I think the saturation is bumped up on the red on a layer mask. (the coloring of the two seats are off some is the reason I say that and the lack of shadows from artifical lighting inside the car) Of course I could be wrong. I would also venture to say that the headlights were flashed with the keyless remote to keep them from being to hot. But that is just a guess.

This is a professional shot. The lights were either shot separately with the exposure closed down and stripped later or the battery could have been disconnected and a lower voltage battery used for the shoot.

The seats could have been shifted, but I'm seeing a lot of light on them. And in that dark of an area, the detail would have gone away too much if not lit in some way. Don't you think?

But as to it being "a professional shot.", I'd only agree in that we have a lot of great amateur talent here. (Some with too much love for selective color?) :D Think I like the flashlights in the seats idea mentioned above. I'd prefer to see the light bounced off the headliner. For dark ones, we would put a white card up there & bounce off of it.

Especially since the exposure was 6 seconds. :)

looks like one flash on the left side (as you look) and probably a few layers too
