I don't know anything about this photography company, but I subscribe to Will Crockett's Shootsmarter newsletter and saw this promo in the current issue:

"We Need More Professional Photographers

Modern Image Studios is the premier wedding photography and videography company servicing all of Chicagoland, and we are looking for bright new talent to grow with us in a variety of positions ranging from Portrait Assistants, Studio Photographers, to Lead Event Photographers."

For the full text of the promo, you can go to the following link:

I am in no way affiliated with this company but thought that it might be a nice opportunity for some aspiring POTN members. Good luck! :D - Stu

They sound like Bella. I believe this ad was on Craigslist, too.

I understand  - but if you move you'll miss out on the great networking and partnering that you're starting to get involved with in Carolina. Those are some wonderful opportunities you have there.

Bella is a chain of discount photography studios. It really isn't too bad a deal for someone with a good portfolio but not enough resources to open their own studio. I know at least one pro who shoots for them during the off season to supplement his income.

True Stu. But.. I am moving in 6 months anyway. That's why I wanted to do some 2nd shooting here before I move. So whomever mentors me.. I'd take what I learned and use it when I move instead of becoming the competition.

Ah.... thank you Liza :D . Ask and ye shall be informed. Doesn't sound like a bad deal at all for somebody in the right circumstances.

They aren't well thought of in high end pro circles, but if you're just starting out it really isn't a bad deal at all. I've considered signing on with them and shooting a few weddings in Indianapolis. I'm not sure that they'll let you use the photos for your portfolio, though. That would be more valuable to me than the money.

Where do you think you are moving to? After you just built up those connections at the Bridal show?
