Being a rider myself when I attempt shots like this I prefer the natural look. Not real crazy about the purplish tinted rocks and yellowish trees in the back ground. But if that’s what you like and were going for I’d say you nailed it. Either that or my monitor at work needs more than calibration. I guess what I am trying to say is I think it would look better just plain and simple. But that’s just me.:D

thanks travis, I caught these guys sightseeing and they werent really crazy about me pointing my camera at them..lol. Needless to say, the shot was a touch blurry and not set up very well. ...compensated for that w/ some experimenting w/saturation and color. ...might have gone a little too far.

Did you try unsharp mask at all? That might be able to help if it’s just a little OOF. Where was the shot taken?

..taken from 'the Lookout' on the Ortega highway overlooking lake Elsinore, CA. I havent messed w/ unsharp mask and havent used it before. Would that soften the photo (please excuse the stupid question, im learning)?

No it actually sharpens the image to help emphasize texture and detail. Give it a shot, I know the name is misleading, lol.

I'll do that, thank you very much

I really like the composition but, being a traditionalist, the false colours don't interest me.

snapman, thanks for the gander. This is what happens when you discover photoshop before you discover photography...lol. Actually, I kind of like photography from a graphic arts point of view, but in all honesty, had the photograph come out great I would not have gone this route. ..thanks again.

i think the the pic would have been much better without the rider in the picture. Just the bikes and the landscape.
