Some of the interesting doorwways found on a recent trip to Old Laprarie.

The top three are leaning a bit left. I think if you crop and straighten them they will be allot more effective.

If you shoot this kind of thing allot being square to the subject can be key. You can always straigten it out in photoshop edit/transform/perspctive but the more you get right up front the less you have to do later.

I like the color of the second one....what the perspective

When you're not perfectly square when shooting something with strong parallel vert & horz lines like doors and windows they the doors and windows will become trapezoidal and the lines will no longer be parallel. It becomes even more evident when shooting with side angle lenses. You can get some really interesting results but you need to be really off. When its just slightly off it looks kinda strange.

Thanks for the comments Guys will try and pay more attention next time. Had a bit of traffic to dodge as well.
Will play with them in PS and see what I can do.

very nice series. Seems to have a bit of lens flare on the 2nd one. I would strainthen all shots since they seems a bit towars the left.

Sometimes I wonder if doorways are supposed to welcome, terrify, or simply to express the personality of those to whom the doorway accesses? You've played with those possibilities here and it is tickling - almost in the giggle sense - when I wonder if you've helped me reach a conclusion. Maybe the answer is as different as the owners-of-the-moment of each doorway. Certainly the original designers' intentions have been re-directed with the makeup and jewelery of varnish and hardware.

Do you think the doers of these doors realized in each case how revealing their creations are to the world? I suppose each differs to different people in its appeal... in its magnetism to a knocking fist?
