Hey everyone,

So I bought a domain name and am making myself a porfolio. I don't have A LOT of photos, but I guess it's a start. On the main site it will have a link to view more photos. Here is the link:

I will post the full site when I am done with it, but in the mean time, can i get your oppinion on the photos :) Thanks, I appreciate it

First image (Carrie Underwood 03) is nice, but I'ld crop off the light in the right edge.
Carrie Underwood 02 is nice as well.
Taylor Swift 01 is the best image on the page IMO.

The 'Festival' images need a bit more variation, and/or a lot tighter culling; now it's "more of the same" which brings the entire gallery down...

Thanks, so maybe I should crop some up close images? I will take your advice and see what I can do. Thanks!

I don't know what you are trying to get from your site, but i would not link to a flickr or mySpace page, or ANYTHING like that.

Maybe it is just the way i think about it, but i reckon it is a bit of a cop out.

Web hosting is cheap as chips, and putting your own time/money into your own site rather than just linking to a flickr page is a poor effort IMO. You are in the USA, so you can probably even get FREE hosting somewhere.

I think that the effort you put into your website shows, and the more you have on it the better. A home page that says "I am really good, click here for pics" might as well say "Under Construction".

End Rant.

You have some great images in there, and you need to find a way to display them well on YOUR OWN site, not a community share site. The number of people that visit your site AND click the link is slim. Even here on POTN... if people give a link for images rather than embedding them, feedback is generally very slim (except in your case where you are asking for opinions on the whole page etc).

That's my take on it anyway. You have some great images, so don't sell yourself short by taking the easy/cheap option out.

Hey Rob, thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Yea, I am paying for hosting, and my site is being set up. I see what you are saying about the link to the Flickr, I will change that. Thanks for your oppinion. Actually, here is a cap to the temp layout I am going to be using, and maybe I can get oppinions on that as well. Thanks for the nice comments on the photos, I appreciate it. Here is the cap to my website...

(it is much more clear in full size)

The only navigation pages I have are contact, and view photos. The view photos goes to the flickr page, but I can make a popup gallery on the site itself. But those are the only 2 links, suggestions would be apprecaited. I would do an about. but what would I say? Hi, Im a 19 year old kid who has been into photography for 1 year. May I have photo credentials? You know what I mean, lol.
