Managed to get some shots of these guys out in the open a couple of weeks ago. Very quick on foot, but a few times one would emerge from the reeds and stay put long enough for a few shots. I wish I could have gotten lower for some of these, but we were on a boardwalk that crosses the pond (although we were lying flat on it...and hoping nobody would come walking by:lol: )

One of the three juveniles around showed up for a few seconds:

This one is my personal favorite of the Rails that day:

These are excellent Dan. The few we have at the wetlands I frequent in Whitby are very elusive and although we see them regularly they never offer up poses like these. Wonderful light & colours too.

Very nice shots Daniel, these guys are hard to capture (at least here). I haven't
gotten a clear shot yet.

Very nice captures Dan of the Rails, especially the chick....I guess I WAS the guy that did come along the path and wondered about these two fools lying flat on their bellies on the boardwalk.....Ingenuity and patience pay off.

Dynamite series of this very secretive bird. I like them all with very nice colors. If I had to chose it would be the chick and nice to see it down at it's level with colors starting to show in the plumage. Excellent!

It was quite memorable. These guys were pretty cooperative considering the elusiveness of rails.

I knew I felt the presence of somebody watching! It was nice to run into you that morning.
And thanks to everyone else who took the time to view and comment on these!:D

These are awesome captures Daniel. For months I've been trying to get a picture of these guys...I hear them but they always hid in the reeds and when they do emerge, it is only for a brief moment. Well done on taking advantage of the situation.

Dan, Im sorry that I missed these wonderful captures while I was away. It looks like you and Wayne finally coaxed them out into the open. Maybe I'll get my chance next year.
Well done!!
