Hi

I know this lens is not the best for soccer shots. That's all I have so I have to make do. I do not take sports photos too often so I normally use the sports mode on my 350D. I find this option too restrictive and the results are not to my liking. MInd you, could also be inexperience user
I'd like to venture into M or TV mode but don't know where to begin. Centre AF, ISO, aperture, shutter speed.

I managed to get 2 keepers out of 5-6 shots. Both had the ball in frame...really hard to do that

I'm back there on the field this Friday again hoping for some improvement shots of my nephew.

Thanks
pat

Tv (shutter priority) mode is usually preferable, then you know to what extent you're either feezing or blurring the action. Expect to get loads of junk shots, so just keep shooting and you're likely to come up with some that you really like...

If you're having problems with low shutter speeds (everything's way too blurry), then increase the ISO (it'll degrade image quality progressively as you increase ISO, but you'll get some kind of an acceptable compromise there).

Centre AF point will usually be the safest bet, then you know you're focusing on the action instead of another player who just happens to be closest to one of the outside AF points.

Hope that's a couple of pointers for you.
