Just wondering if anyone else has fallen victum to the new iphone craze because I certainly have! The email and Internet on this ting is superb! Matter of fact I'm making this post on it. Its surprisingly useful for photography as well. I now keep my business card stored on the phone ad email it to who ever i stumble across. It rocks!

So - a new toy, eh? Haven't received your first phone bill yet - obviously. That'll slow you down some. :)

hehe, it won't be to bad... I got a great employee plan through my work. Unfortunately they only offer one plan with 2000 minutes that I will never use but it all comes to under 50 a month with the minites text data etc. Its worth it at that price! :-)

I'm waiting for them to come north. The way I figure I can get rid of a few devices with them being combined into this. 50.00 is not bad.

I don't even have a plain cell phone. I ditched it many many months ago. Have only wished I had one 2x since then.

Nah, I don't feel the craze. Sorry. Although, my work colleague and I thought we'd try to get our company to splash out on one for us. ;)

i've seen a few pics taken with an iphone and they look pretty decent.

Yeah, I've seen that as well.

yea the camera on the iphone is actually pretty darn good. Far better than the one on my old treo at least. That and the wide screen makes taking pictures that much more fun.

I noticed the max shutter speed is kind of slow though. It wasnt able to stop a moving car in broad daylight. So Im guessing the max shutter is something like 1/1000th. Not exactly designed to be a sports camera. :-)

Oh and the high ISO's are terrible. Not a good low light camera, haha.

I'll try to take several half decent shots today and post the results with 100 percent crops. :-)

Not sure if anyone hear about this but i think the iPhone has bugs...security bugs to be exact...

Yea i can't say I'm particularly worried about the whole security thing. The chances of someone going through all that trouble to steal my contacts list are pretty slim. Anything can be hacked. There's no sense living in a shell.

Gee I don't have an iPhone, I don't even have a TV* yet, but I just ordered my second iRAM drive as the first one was too small for my photoshop swap file (proof positive I am no luddite although that would not be so bad).

* I stayed in a hotel a couple of years ago and looked at the TV and saw a show that I think was supposed to be funny. It was about aliens that looked like people and farted really stinky farts. Is this really what people are watching? What would an iPhone do for me then?

PS $50 per month that is $600 a year so I can do what, take phone calls while grocery shopping?

To be honest I really don't understand all this hype about it. Yes it looks quite cool, but when I look at it as user, it's nothing all that special. Nowadays I have my GSM phone (with 3g so sending photos is at least a bit faster), pocket pc for sending photos, ipod for music and bluetooth gps antenna for navigation.
So what could I get rid of if I get iPhone? For sending photos, I would still need my current Nokia, since iPhone is not 3g (and from that what I heard, it won't be either when it finally comes to Europe). I would also need pocket pc since iPhone doesn't have slots for CF and SD cards. I would also still need to keep my iPod, since iPhone's 4 or 8GB of memory is "a bit" too little for my taste. Maybe I could get rid of GPS, since iPhone should have some sort of navigation, but not 100% sure in that either. So on the end, I wouldn't do much more then throw $500+ for cool looking toy, which wouldn't save me anything... and afterall it's still just a phone :)

My Samsung 3G has an amazing camera. Programmable resolutions. The smallest of SD cards. I think I must take some shots and post them here to show y'all. Oh yeah - I can make phone calls as well! :)

yea that's one thing they should have put in the iPhone is the ability to take SD cards. There is a cable though that allows you to connect a camera to a iPod and use it as a hard drive. I wonder if it would work with the iPhone and a DSLR.

Oh, and pictures tonight guys I promise!

Well, as I work for a competitor, we were all a bit freaked out as Apple has this reputation. But having had my hands on the phone now for almost a month I must say I would be surprised if this puppy took off. The voice quality is horrible and the 2g data capabilities are like going back to dialup once you tasted cable. We measured data rates around 100k with bursts to 144k. All in all it seems like a big step backwards, but ya never know, Apple marketing can convince a lot of folks that turds smell great and have them all walking around sniffing them all day. ;):)

My phone does calls (obviously), SMS, MMS, 1.3 camera, bluetooth, dedicated MP3 player, FM radio, plays (java based) games, plays videos, does web browsing, IM, and email. Battery life is great (I charge it about once a week) and my plan is $40 a month. Oh, and the phone was free after rebate when I bought it 18 months ago.

So, yeah the iPhone is really nice, and does some stuff better than mine (much nicer screen for one thing) but man is that a price premium. $500 for a bigger screen and 802.11G. I'll wait till I can get an iPhone for free after rebate. :)

The iPhone may have a camera, but it doesn't do video, and in this day of YouTube, that's inexcusable.

AT&T's network is sloooow for browsing, and that alone is painful.

The speaker on it sucks.

I'd still like to have one though.

Oh, and while I'm at it, the keyboard is terrible. I couldn't type worth a damn on it.

It's impossible to dial when you're driving. Yeah, yeah, I know you're not supposed to do that, but with my crackberry I can do it by touch. No such luck on a touchscreen.

I still want one.

I see Apple share price took a downward due to way less than expected sales. The public as a whole are not mas dumb as the marketeers may think at times.

marketeers always think that the public are thick as anything. however when it comes to spending money most people wont to make sure they are getting something for it.

if people think that the current phone will do then the iphone is going to change there mind. also people may think that the phone is geared for those in the business.

once again the sharemarket has inflated the price of apple shares due to nothing.

I had read on Yahoo finance that the sales of the phone were not too bad but only 1 in 5 are actually activating the phones. Can the other 4 be speculators trying to get a better price on ebay?
