Might as well post something here. Pardon the resolution, it was made for my gallery (working on it!)

Feedback pls. I'm new at photography and I'd like to take more portrait shots.

For starters, she has a noticeable bump on her forehead. She also has a
hot spot on her forehead, but you might be able to lessen it by using the
Clone Stamp tool, if you're using Photoshop. There are areas under her eyes and on her nose which are also hot. She's very pretty, but you definitely need to soften her eyes. Sexy gal. 8)
I think your lighting is what's causing the glare.

Welcome to the forum.
I aplogise for what I'm about to say in advance but you have posted the image for critique and I don't normally critique model shots but...
I prefer the first image however, the blue of the couch needs cloning out as its distracting IMO.
The worst thing of all is the position of her arms - sorry but it looks as if she has had a double amputation. I'm not sure if its the vignette (has this been applied post-processing?) or just the odd angle of her arms.
Perhaps if her arms were hanging over the arm of the couch it would be better or show more of her right hand and include her left one also - I know little about portrait photography so I'm only guessing at the pose but I do know that compositionally it looks odd.

David

Thanks for the critique. I just took the pic and to the left is light from a big window. Totally new at photography, so don't have much technical knowledge.
The position of the arms, I can see what you mean now when you point it out. I just took the pic while she was lying and looking at stuff.
