Sorry Skip, can't help you... I know nothing. :?

PS. Had a look at your website. You've got some really cool pictures there.

I've had similar problems in the past. I cured it by using manual mode and overlapping the shots by about 50%.

If you use Av or TV, or any of the programmed modes, you will get different exposures as the camera rotates. I suspect that's what happened in your case. Setting shutter and aperture manually and shooting all the images with the same settings will prevent that from happening.

Also, if you have a CP filter on the camera, take it off before taking these shots. The angle of the sun relative to the image will influence the polarizing effect as you rotate the camera.

BTW, I know that stretch of Highway 580 very well. We used to live in the Bay Area (Los Gatos) and frequently traveled to Sac'to, and Reno/Tahoe.

Good luck.

Yes, I recognize that location. I agree. For next time, lock the exposure setting from the first frame and use it again on the second frame or any successive frame.

Belmondo, I not sure as yet but you may have the problem solved. I have been using TV all the time. I will try the manual mode.

The location of the picture is off Altamont Pass road that goes from Livermore to Tracy.

You are at the higest point of the road, down below there is a farm house.
Very nice a night up there.

Ok once again Thanks to all.
