on the s3 , when it is put in super zoom, there is no zoom capabilities and you just move the camera in on the subject ? also,if that is the way to do it, what is the best way to focus,auto or manual ?

Are you referring to Super Macro? If so then I just use Auto focus, but you can just play around and see what works best for you. I've had really good luck leaving it in auto though. And to answer your other question...you move your camera in on your subject with super macro. When using just macro you do have a little bit of zoom capabilities.

thanks for the reply cindi. i meant super macro. i started with and still have the s1 which has been a very good camera to me. it also took me awhile to figure out the manual flash too.ha.....
