There is a user review here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=251221&highlight=M80)

You will need to read through it - there are a couple of reviews and a lot of chatter.

I'd like to hear some opinions from users here too.
It looks interesting and is now available in Australia too.

Can't wait to check out the M80.

Is that $869 for the Canon M80?
If so, where can you get it from ?

Cheers

I have used the m80 couple of days now and i really like it, i didnt read the manual because the layout on the front of the m80 is exactly the same as my 30d so you know which button does what instantly.

Plus the m80 uses the same battery as my 30d which means you dont have to carry two different batterys with you when you go out.

I will be traveling to the UK in a month and have very strongly considered holding out until I arrive to get the M80. I figured that because it uses the same battery as the 30D (BP-511?) that I can find a US charger and will be fine. As far as I can tell in reading up on the two units, the only thing the M80 does not list is the ability to play divx/xvid videos? Any chance you could test that out to determine if can play divx? For me that is quite a deal-breaker because I have a ton of TV shows in DIVX format and it would be great to be able to use the device for watching stuff when it's not full to the brim with photos.

Canon have seriously dropped the ball on this one.

First of all an external powersupply to run the unit while at home is NOT included. So when you get home you risk having to switch battery while copying data to your pc if you have lots of photos and battery is low.

IF you buy the external powersupply then the battery will not charge when turned on. If turned on it even with external power connected it will run on battery. So the powersupply is actually completely useless.

A danish user have told me all this and he is now selling his again.

And based on that I have decided not to buy it.

So jevidon my advice is to go for the Epson P-5000
