Finished a day of wildlife shooting last week, and when it got dark I decided to head inside and set up a shot of the lens I was using. I'm just starting to learn the whole off-camera light thing, so this was just a simple exercise for me. An SB-25 off to camera right with a grid spot to light the side of the lens and cast that shadow on the wall, and a 580EX on the ground, gobo'd with a seat cushion (it contaminated the wall, at first), to fill in some of the darker parts of the lens, and get me those specular highlights on the hood (you could hardly make out the petal blades with just the one light). The whole thing was done in sort of an alcove maybe five feet deep, with a couch taking up two or three of them, so I didn't have as much range to position my lights and subject as I would have liked. C&C, anyone?
