Well I went back to the barn that I had taken a photo of a few years back to see if it was still standing. Well to my suprise, it's being rescued. I stopped a talked to the new owners and they said they were rebuilding it so they could have a barn, the lumber is being sawed just down the road, so this is all green timber going in, it should harden up like the original, He told me when he was cutting through one of the original beams he went through 4 sawzall blades, it was so hard. Really good to see a barn being saved.

Here is a photo of the barn I took a few years back.

And here is what I saw I my return visit. Yes I realize the sky is blown out but shooting directly into the sun even with a Polarizing filter is tough.

Still a ways to go but it will get done. I told them I'll have to stop back and get some progress shots.

It's nice to see they aren't going to let it just collapse. Have you posted pictures of this barn before? The area looks vaguely familiar to me for some reason.

Great to see old buildings being saved, much harder to save something than knock it down and rebuild. If you can you should post a few of the finished product, I would love to see it.

Thanks Davy for the comments, it is really nice to see a barn getting saved, and I do plan on going back every once in a while and take progress photos.

Hey. I just looked at your pictures in the original post again and realized there is snow in that first shot! How recent are these pictures?!? You don't still have snow on the ground, do you?
