What am I doing wrong with mirror lock up and using the remote

Maybe I am not understanding this and it is working correctly. When I use the mirror lock up I have to press the shutter button twice to take the picture. When I use the RC-1 remote it takes the picture instantaneously, which sounds to me like mirror lock up is not working, correct? What am I doing wrong? For those who use mirror lockup with the RC-a remote could you reply with how you use it and what you experience please. Thank you!

Try it using the two second delay on the remote.

Yeah, mirror lockup is working, first shutter press lifts the mirror, next opens the shutter...


Use it with the timer (drive mode) and when you hit the shutter button the mirror will lift then 2 seconds later the shutter will open

Thank you! I listened hard while using the 2 second delay and I indeed heard the mirror lock and then 2 seconds later it took the shot.
