I shot my first portraits this afternoon, of my two daughters......

First time using my 430ex and my Mk11n for this type of stuff

Tell me what you think, any advice would be appreciated

#1 is hot (as in too bright) all over. If you were going for high key style then it's missing some darker contrast parts.

#2 is better but still lacking in the darker ranges.

#3 is too bright. Her high shoulder is blending into the background.

Over-all less light would be better IMHO.

And I'd throw the background out of focus a bit, as the wrinkles in the backdrop are still in pretty good focus. More open aperature will do that for you. If you did that and it still came out with the wrinkles still in good focus, try moving them about 8 or 10 feet away from it. That should do it.

Really blown out. Probably want to turn the flash power down... Cute shot though...
