I've been practising a PS action that produces a lomo effect, a couple of samples attached. i think it works with people as well as other subjects....what do you think?

I was going to ask the same question. Was this all natural lighting? If not what did you use???

From:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomography

Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, "happy accidents," and alternative film processing are often considered part of the "Lomographic Technique." Users are encouraged to take a lighthearted approach to their photography, and use these technique to document everyday life, as the Lomo LC-A's small size, simple controls, and ability to shoot in low light encourages candid photography, photo reportage, and photo vérité.

great explanation Bob, I felt pretty lighthearted and casual when I manipulated these images :) To answer other questions, yes all natural light with photoshop work to clone out unwanted background features in the first image. Thanks for the comments! The link I used for the 'lomo' action is here

I prefer the bike picture too that's a perfect background, the other one is a little too "blue" for my taste.

Bikerider I am curious to know your camera settings on the bike pic and if you used natural light only.

thanks!

That was the basis for the first of three Lomo actions (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=275545) I have created as well. :D

ValB the blue cast is related to a toning process on b&w images, I've always liked the effect but yeah it's not to everyone's taste :)....Ultra I used my 50mm 1.4 lens on f2 if I remember correctly (the original image is not on my puter), all natural light, no flash. Bob393 thanks for the compliment.....Beau does that action you posted work on PS7 too? Great thread you created there too btw, look slike a very good action. I do individual processes as I found the need to vary the intensity of the effect depending on the image.
