Weird fantasy year to say the least.

But, I am 3-2 and traded away Delhomme a few weeks back - so not all bad!
Yeah except you traded him to me. That is Ok though, Rivers hasn't been great and Berrian has stunk.
This year is so weird that I still don't know what I am doing. Usually by the second or third week I have nailed down my starting team and have backups i place for bye weeks. This year I have no clue who to start, who to pickup, and who to drop. This is by far the worst year I have had yet. I am only above 500 in one out of 4 leagues. Oh well, there is always next year. ;)

I've got a QB up for trade for a RB. Garret. My RB's keep getting hurt. This is not good.

Who the heck is Garret?

EDIT: Do you mean Garrard? Of the Jags?

You are going to have to put something more palatable out there to get a decent running back. Your backup QB probably wont generate much interest - especially with all the points the Jags are not scoring.

Rivers had a GREAT game for me last week - 3 TD's total and a nice amount of yards! Thanks!

His first one all year. Besides, I was able to pick up Eli Manning and Kurt Warner from waivers, so I will be fine.

The number one fantasy player so far this year - Peyton Manning? Ladanian Tomlinson? Larry Johnson?

Try Tom Brady by leaps and bounds. Whoever drafted him - nicely done!

This year has been so weird. As soon as I think I have it figured out, something changes. In my 4 leagues I only have 1 above .500. But there is still time. And in the playoffs, anything can happen.

my fantasy team is well.... let's just say about all they can do is beat up on a little herd o' corgis.... poor puppies... i just can't get any of my lazy sacks of nikon to go out and play. bears defense is horrible...palmer is so-so, my RB and receivers don't know where the end zone is...

no. not at all. but in my typical fantasy football fashion it was bound to happen. all my people get hurt, or just plain suck year in and year out. at least this one didn't cost me anything (well besides the $1000's of dollar in camera gear)

NO NO NO Brett Farve stop. I could have had a tie and when it went into ot I was hoping for a interception. I know his Monday night record and wasn't surprised to see him launch a bomb and get the winning touchdown. Good going all.

my question is... how come i am the #1 ranked coach? how does that work? i am only .500 is it because of the people i pick to start out of my team or what?

That is based on how well you pick your starters. It is a ratio based on whether or not your starter gets more points than the guys on your bench for each position.

Man, I just pulled one out of nowhere last night. I was down pretty bad with only the Chargers DST left to play to team TS/E. The Chargers played a great game D wise and I was up with only a few minutes left in the 4th qtr. Then Rivers had to fumble in the end zone which put me behind again. I was down by 1 point and thought it was over, but Manning 6th, yes that is right, 6th pick of the day gave me a one point win.

That is the luck of the draw this year it seems. In previous years th eteam with the best record was always the dominant team, outscoring every opponent by a large margain. This year it seems that every week every team has a chance, even ones starting people on bye weeks in some of my leagues. :( When your QB gets hurt, your DST gets 28 put on them by Cleveland , and your RBs take the day off you can lose to some pretty bad teams, which I did in my other league.

(Boozers) What a rollercoaster ride. I thought I was done in by T.O. of Dallas. R Moss has a big game later that night. Down to the defense teams of the Titans and the Broncos on Monday night. The Titans were terrible. It came out real close. If there was more time V. Y. would have done me in with a interception.

I lost my game by 1 stinking point! I thought had it this game wrapped up until Brady racks up 44 points and then Brandon Marshall was allowed to walk in last night. Unbelievable! This season just keeps me guessing. The lack of consistency in so many players is unreal.

Mike, I guess you know how I felt last week. It really doesn't make me feel good you lost though, it really sucks to have that happen. I won one for the gipper I guess despite the Saints looking like Little Sisters of the Poor. Pats D pulled it out for me.

It's been fun. I've had so many different players come and go I get confused on who is on my team unless I'm sitting down and reading the roster. Kinda like my great find of the year with Ricky Williams. I thought I was going to be unstoppable with that clever move. I think next year should draw more interest so count me in for the 08/09 season as well.

Earlier this year I shared with everyone how I lost by one point in a game. Well it got worse this past weekend. In the only league I made the playoffs it happened again, only this time it was truely heartbraking.

One of my leagues has a 2 round, 4 week playoff. The tops four teams make the playoffs and we were all 9-4! I was the third seed based on tiebreakers and was playing a team that beat me earlier this season. The first week I was beat 141-130 so I had to make up those 11 points this week. By the end of Sunday's games I was up by 6 points for both weeks (so I had made up 17 points) and the team I was playing had the Vikings DST left to play (ranked number 1 of course). I didn't have much faith.

Well, I checked the scoring about halfway through the third quarter and I was ahead by 1 point total. All the Bears had to do was not allow a sack, interception, or fumble. Flipping back and forth between a few channels and there is now only 1:40 left in the game and I am still winning. Again, no sacks, no interceptions, or fumbles allowed. The Bears are down by 7 and are driving. Kyle Orton drops back to pass, has Bernard Berrian WIDE OPEN near the end zone and throws behind him. PICKED OFF and my playoffs are over as well. I lost by 1 friggin' point in a 2 week playoff game.

Oh well, you can't win em all. :)

PS, we will definitely play again next year.

Hey people, NFL draft day is less than 3 weeks out! Is anybody else excited about the next NFL season, or is it just me!?

I start thinking about FFL about this time of the year, and I was interested to know if anyone has discussed another POTN FFL league for this year? I'm really curious to see if those who played last year would be interested in migrating the FFL activity to yahoo. I use stat tracker there which makes it a lot easier to manage and really participate in the league(s) I'm involved in.

So what is everyone's take on that!? ;)

BTW, I'm looking to get some honor back from the horrible performance of my last FFL team (Herd~O~Corgis) last year...the shame must end!!!

I would like to join.

I've played for the last 6 years on NFL.com. This year I also had a team on Yahoo. While I liked the Yahoo format, I didn't like the fact that you have to pay for live scoring and stat tracker info. Nothing like calling up the guy who's ass your kicking that week only to hear "I was to cheap to pay for the live scoring so I have no idea what's going on." Really puts a damper on your crap talking.:p

The Yahoo fee is only $10 so no big deal just thought I would throw that out there.

Whatever site you end up going with let me know and I will play. Also if it comes down to it and we need somebody else my wife likes to play also. She usally only plays one team but I could talk her into another if we are short players.

The $10 is the group rate, right? I pay for unlimited use and I think its a little higher as a stand-alone option. The stat-tracker is the best I have seen for quickly managing multiple teams in multiple leagues.

I don't want to suggest moving to yahoo if its going to cost a lot of people extra, though. I definitely don't want to thin the attendance for one little aesthetic advantage. ;)

Eric&Susan
8th of April 2008 (Tue), 23:59
I payed $9.95 for just my team. I didn't see an option for a group rate. I played with some guys I play poker with and about half were to cheap to pay the $10 to get the live stat tracker. You can still play without playing you just have to wait until Monday morning to see your Sunday stats, no pay no live scoring.
