Does anyone have some good ideas on how to pose a 3 month old? I can do newborns, and 6 months when they are sitting up more, but a 3 month old is more difficult to get creative. I've tried a boppy for support-which doesn't always work too well, or on their belly up on their elbows (which most don't like), and in a basket, but for a boy you can only do so much for props. I don't really like how the shots turn out when they're just laying flat on the floor on their back either. Any suggestions?

There are a few ways to handle this. I used a Boppy and found it rather handy. Others have tried other things and have been successful. You might want to search the forums for answers.

Thanks for the link, but I was looking for something a little more creative for 3 month olds, since they really can't hold their heads up yet. I've used a boppy with a blanket over it (similar to your rolled pillow idea) for posing them on their bellies, but you can only take so many head/shoulders shots.

I was looking for something a little more creative - you can only take so many head/shoulders shots. Fill a big panda with cement & prop it sitting up against it? :D

We seem to be having the same problem. At this moment I am trying to "invent" a baby poser that would be beneficial to the pre sitting stage. A lot of the posers that are out there are too expensive (at least for me) and I don't think they would work very well.
How about having the baby laying on with his head on a pillow and his body to the side with a small pillow (not visible) at his back to prevent him from rolling on his back?
Or a small chair? It's a good idea to have mom next to the baby but out of the shot when using a chair. Then mom can keep her hands on the baby until you are ready to shoot.
