i shoot alot of niteclub photography in RAW and either download to iphoto to catalog them and either edit like brightness etc in iphoto or photoshop CS2. then when i resize the photos most of them look cloudy or washed out. is there a better way of resizing and keeping a clearer image to preserve the quality of my shot for the web.

the photos are resized to 600px (H)

Another kiwi pjs_nz? Welcome :)

I use photoshops image -> resize option. I also do everything possible in the RAW converter. Can you post an example image?

washed out part sounds like a color space mis-match.

Second the color space trouble. Use sRGB for web and other non-colormanaged apps (Like iPhoto AFAIK is)
Have a read in the link from my sig.

Zepher and Reke had the answer - you're using the wrong color space. Everything have to be converted to sRgb before posting on the web. I suggest you shoot in sRgb unless you understand color profiles and have a need to use another space. In the book thread linked from my sig there's a book on color management, it's a great book but color's not an easy topic. Have a look at the link Rene gave you too.

Also take a look at this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=131484&page=1988), there's a bunch of guys (http://www.gkpe.org.nz/) in Auckland who do regular outings you might be able to learn a lot from. Nice guys too.

Yep set the camera, the raw converter, and anything else you can find to sRgb, that'll pretty much eliminate color issues for you :)
