How long for repair ?

Hi all,

For those of you guys who have already sent glasses for repair. How long did it take to get it back ?
There will be FOUR weeks next tuesday that my lens is at Canon for repair and still no news. What is the problem, do they have to change something, or how much will it cost... I still know nothing :cry: :cry:

Is this normal ?

I have not returned a lens to Canon UK but I returned my 300D Camera for warranty repair on the 18th of May and I still have not had it returned.
I had a letter after three weeks confirming it's arrival.
When I rang Elstree Repair Center an automated message gave a three week turn around, I rang after three weeks to find out the average turnaround had gone up to 28 working days.
Canon rang me yesterday (Friday 18th) and assured me that it would be looked at in the next couple of days and all being well and if it is not a major fault I should receive it by next week end.
Apparently they are very busy at the moment and there is a longer than usual delay. :roll:
