As you know, Nikon D100 is a competitive digital SLR camera of Canon D60.
In Japan, D100 was released on June 22, at a much lower price than D60.
I have been at a loss which one to choose, and finally I got D100 on that day..
It might be a kind of my mistake. I feel that white balance and exposure control of D100 are not perfect right now.
I have already token a hundred of pictures so far. Almost all pictures were under exposure. You have to do +0.7 or +1.0 exposure adjustment to get good pictures.
I regret that I should get D60.
Good points of D100 are, it is very easy to operate, wonderful finder and light weight.
Any way I uploaded some pictures taken D100 on my web site. I retouched all pictures to compensate exposure. I think its color tone is a little bit deferent from D60.
Please take a look for reference

hi komin...

they do look nice and crisp...although in my opinion (but then i've got a d-30 and lots of canon glass) they are a bit too cool and unsaturated for me...plus they seem to have that common ccd look (just a touch suspiciously sharp to my eyes...it's all subjective i know :) i'd like to see a few larger sizes too (larger sized jpegs, that is...i wanted to zoom in on some of the spots and see just what was happening)

i'd also be curious to see a few more indoors shots...all in all, I don't think they look bad (remember the learning curve we all went through here with the d-30's exposure...i don't know enough about nikon equipment to even have an informed opinion)

at this point...being able to actually GET a new camera has become a challenge...i hope the canon people realize how many new customers they are going to lose if nikon can get enough of these to market :eyes

thanks for sharing...

Hello bob,

Thank you for your comment.
Right now, there is not so much room in my web site server. So it is hard to upload full size of original jpeg files.
If you inform me your email address, I am willing to send you some jpeg files by email.

I found that about +0.7 EV exposures compensate would be good result.

There are full size D100 photos in http://www.dpreview.com/gallery/nikond100_preview/

High ISO samples look really good, but to my eye there is something "digital" in those files...

I'm sure it is a great camera - take some time to get used to it and then you know if it's for you. But before you start getting big lenses you have to decide which way to go: it is in practice very expensive to switch brands back and forth.

I wish one day Nikon, Canon and Sigma would sit on a table and make a common lens standard so we could choose the lenses and cameras independently.

Pekka,
Maybe this day is closer than you think. It is said that Olympus whish to introduce a new open standard mount for digital camera. Olympus is not a major player but if they can rally Minolta, Fuji, Sigma...they might force Canon and Nikon to join the dance.
