Please tell me what will work to protect the lens on the S1. Part Numbers or a link to a site I can purchase the necessary parts to fix this problem. The supplied lens cap will not stay on at all :x

Thanks ed

Well I think I will buy a LAH-DC10 52mm lens adaptor and place a clear filter on that and find a 52mm cap to fit the lens filter. Will this work?

Yes, this will work. Another adaptor option will be available from http://www.lensmateonline.com in about a week. Their adaptors are metal and color-matched to the camera (Canon's are black plastic but still tough enough for most users.) Go to the lensmate main page and scroll down to the S1 info block.

My lens cap works fine. The design is meant to be loose so that the cap will come off if you turn on the camera w/o taking it off first. The Gx cameras work the same way.

LAHDC10 is a POS  Piece of plastic at 50 bucks... it's just too much.

And it looks stupid, being black. And makes the camera REALLY bulky.

Tried it. It "protects", but I started to worry that if I touch it, the plastic is gonna shutter.

Wait for the metal one.
