`is it easy to get access to this area??`
Donna Nook is the best of the three Lincolnshire ranges for public viewing. There is a public car park and a sandy track leading along the bottom of the dunes to the control tower where the gun and land bombing targets are. Generally the public are tolerated if you stay within the signs but the control tower area can be restricted if helicopters are landing or artillery testing is in progress but even then the viewing from on top of the dunes is normally unrestricted. I haven`t been that much since the A10 and F111`s were common there but unless much has changed you really can`t get much closer to the planes than you can at Donna. Be warned you could spend a day here and hardly see a thing or turn up on a fine day only to find the cloud height or haze out at sea stops the range being used.
