When I'm on the index pages for exhibitions I would like a click on a thumnail to take me to that exhibition or group rather than to that particualr photo.

Like Matt has done here

Any ideas how it's done

the start page doesn't seem to be part of ee. It looks like an extra page with individual links to the exhibitions.

ah, that would explain it.
can what I want be done in EE?
People who are easily confused end up on a single photo rather than in a gallery. I would like them to end up in the appropriate gallery

malum, that doesn't make sense to me... if i click on a photo thumbnail or even a microthumb, i fully expect to see a larger version of that photo... if i want to go to the group that that photo belongs in, i'll look for a link possibly like the exhibit's (group?) title ;)

part of the problem that eE faces is that it is very open and can be set up in so many ways... and since it comes with the sources and even has snippets, one can do most anything one wants with a bit of coding ;)

maybe so, but everyone who I send to my site ends up on an individual photo and not on the section they were trying to get into, telling me that it doesn't make sense that a thumbnail above the title of the group (which is a link to that section) doesn't also lead to that section. This is despite a notice in the top of the news section telling them how it works
I know how it works so I don't have a problem but I can see their point.
